Get an English Literacy Tutor
English At Large offers free English literacy tutors.

How to get a tutor
1. Contact the English At Large office by or by phone: 781-395-2374.
2. Have an interview and take an English literacy test.
To be eligible for a tutor, you must
Be at least 18 years old.
Live or work in our 20-town service area.
Plan to live in the United States for at least three years.
Not attend any other program that receives money from the Massachusetts Department of Education.
Not have a degree from a United States college or university.
Not be pursuing a degree at any United States college or university.

English At Large has a long waiting list. Students may need to wait between six months and one year to have a tutor.

Join an English Conversation group. Practice speaking English in a group with other adults.

Learner Newsletter

Spring issue of Learners At Large is Available. Please call English At Large to receive a copy!
English At Large needs writings and artworks for the spring edition of the Learners At Large newsletter. The newsletter gives non-native English speakers a voice and an opportunity to inspire other English learners. We need poetries, book reviews, restaurant reviews, and personal stories. Please feel free to submit writing on any subject.
