The English At Large Board of Directors is comprised of local volunteers committed to the mission of the organization.  The Board provides financial oversight, guides our strategic vision and works with the staff and other community members to raise funds and awareness for our important work in the local community.

Development Committee

The volunteers on this committee work closely with the Executive Director to develop and support agency fundraising programs and activities that help us secure the resources we need to continue our work.  This group contributes to the success of community fundraisers, our annual appeal, and sustaining gifts and donor stewardship programs.  The committee also manages and drives the success of our Annual Online Auction.

Marketing Committee

The Marketing Committee coordinates all outreach activities, and helps us raise awareness for English At Large across our 21-community service area.  These volunteers successfully led the Call to Action which helped us secure state earmark funding in 2019, and has initiated many other projects to expand our partner network.

Programs Committee

The Programs Committee provides guidance and support to staff on program development and evaluation, learner graduation and volunteer appreciation.  Most of the volunteers on this committee are current or former English At Large tutors or group facilitators who use this experience to help ensure our programs remain high quality and serve those most in need.
